Slow News Day Tuesday

Deathly Hallows:
As my excitement for Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince (which is still 2 weeks away) reaches full blown hysteria, what do I stumble upon? Pictures from the filming of The Deathly Hallows!! The first half of the story isn't due to be in theaters until November of next year but I am ready now! Check out the newest pics at ComingSoon.net. http://www.comingsoon.net/imageGallery/Harry_Potter_and_the_Deathly_Hallows_Set

On TV Tonight:
Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood is on again tonight and I'm a bit nervous as I have just recovered from last week's tear jerking scene when Dean surprised Tori on Valentine's Day. So sweet! On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Buffy's little sis and Gossip Girl baddie Michelle Trachtenberg makes an appearance. Hopefully she'll have some information on how she plans to juggle her new series, Mercy, and her Gossip Girl duties come fall.

Video Xtra:
I have been waiting for YouTube to post this video since it aired a few weeks ago. Ben McKenzie (a.k.a. Ryan Atwood from The O.C.) appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his new show Southland and had me rolling. I think I watched it a half dozen times on the Tivo laughing harder each time he discussed making a jailhouse appearance with buddy Adam Brody. It doesn't hurt that he's also a totally hottie. Enjoy!

Weekend in Review

Go Navy!:
The entertainment highlight of the weekend was definitely the Navy Blue Angles air show in Newport, Rhode Island. It was a warm sunny day, perfect for enjoying the aerobatics of the F-22, F-16, Blackhawk helicopters, and of course the Navy Blue Angel F-18s. If you have never seen one of these shows, I highly recommend it. The schedule is posted here: http://www.aero-pix.com/schedule/schedule.htm. Edge of your seat excitement for the whole family!

Rise of the Fallen:
I'm so glad I got the time to see the new Transformers movie over the weekend. It was a blast! Tons of action and funny stuff and I even got misty eyed a couple of times. This one had quite a bit more robot on robot violence and it was done very well. The story was a bit more involved than the last one but it was still one hell of a ride. A must see for summer!

Scratches:
That was the title of last night's True Blood episode. I am really loving that the show seems to be just different enough from the books to keep my eyes glued to the screen, waiting to see what happens next. Sookie's wounds which inspired the title of the episode were super gruesome to look at, as was the foaming at the mouth. Yuck! But it did all lead to Lafayette being rescued from Eric's basement, thank God. As for the other Stackhouse, I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before Jason jumps into bed with the preacher's wife however, I am more than ready for him to break free of the crazy church. I am also enjoying the relationship unfolding between Jessica and Hoyt. And what's up with Daphne? She is not in the books at all so I am super curious. This could be a lot of fun. Unfortunately they are taking a break for the holiday weekend next week so it will be 2 weeks before we get another new one. Grrr!!

SYTYCD:
After a busy weekend, I finally got around to watching Thursday's results show. The opening group number was extremely sexy. All the water splashing gave it a fun Flash Dance feel and I really enjoyed it. I was pretty surprised to see Jason and Caitlin make the bottom 3 but the other 2 couples were no big shocker. I really liked both Caitlin and Karla's solos so I wasn't at all miffed that Asuka went home. Also not too upset over the loss of Jonathan. He has never been in my top 5 guys. So Wednesday we're down to 7 couples. And it's gettin good!

On TV Tonight:
Cure your case of the Mondays with Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List. This season has been filled with lots of A list celebrity cameos and Kathy's interaction with them has been hysterical. Can't wait to see who she insults next!

Thursday, Busy Thursday

Sookie Book 10?:
Thanks to a tip from Wicks (and her mom) I was able to locate some information on Charlaine Harris' next Sookie Stackhouse novel. My question is, is it book 10 or is it a compilation of the last 9? The blurb above the title says "Sookie Stackhouse: The Complete Stories." So I suppose it's any one's guess at this point. According to her official website http://www.charlaineharris.com/ this book is due out in October so hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out what it really is. I'll let you know as soon as I do!

Fangbangers Beware:
During last night's research I came across an article that put me in quite the mood. I'm somewhat new to the vampire love scene but this piece dissed almost everything about vampires that made me a fan. Check it out for yourselves and form your own opinion:
http://io9.com/5299054/its-buffys-fault-that-vampires-are-weak-now
This article hit my hot button for a number of reasons. For starters, vampires aren't real!! Isn't the fun part of writing about mythical creatures supposed to be making up your own myths? Why bash the creativity of others just because it's popular in the current culture? And, ok, does this guy know anything about chicks? The part that's fun is that it's bad!!! I'm not even going to get into the whole economic power of women and why this sells, blah, blah, blah. Another beef? I'm not only a huge fan of Twilight and True Blood but I LOVE Spike! I did appreciate the shout-out to Angelus and all his delicious sickness. Who doesn't enjoy some of that every now and then? Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Honestly though, how can you not love this?

From one AusHole to Another:
I have been a huge fan of TV know-it-all Michael Ausiello for longer than I care to admit. I even went so far as to follow him from TVGuide.Com to EW.com (I still check in with TVGuide, shh!). Today he has some great news for us O.C. fans. Miss Julie Cooper (Melinda Clarke) will be making an appearance on an Entourage "subplot." I haven't seen much of this show but I've heard it's fantastic and now that I have my HBO back I may have to find out when she will appear!

Mr. Ausiello had another very important scoop just a couple of weeks ago that I thought needed repeating. For the Bones lovers, it looks like the rumors are true. Booth does know who Bones is - he just isn't sure which Bones she is. I like this much better than the whole amnesia story line my mind was wandering down. Now if I could just get through the next 3 months!

SYTYCD Recap:
Karla & Jonathan:
I thought Karla was pretty good but Jonathan was not hitting his stuff hard enough for me even though his acrobatics were great!
Asuka & Vitolio:
It was very sweet when she cried on his shoulder during the practice stuff and I thought it was good but they were definitely out of sync a lot of the time.
Melissa & Ade:
My first thought? Wow! Very hot. And holy cow am I jealous of her grace. If I don’t get at least half of that in my next life I’m asking for a refund.
Janette & Brandon:
This was such a cool idea and they were both great. I want her outfit (better yet I want to look that good in her outfit) and this was one of my faves of the night.
Kayla & Kupono:
I thought this was going to be very boring but it turned out to be quite lovely.
Randi & Evan:
SO CUTE! I always love a Mia Michaels routine and this was no different. I thought Nigel was a bit creepy talking about it but it doesn’t change the fact that it was one of my top 3.
Caitlin & Jason:
I don’t know a damn thing about ballroom dancing but I thought this was amazing. I was holding my breath through the whole thing. Favorite of the night! Very sexy!
Jeanine & Phillip:
I thought they were very cute and totally in sync. And Phillip’s sofa jump was awesome. Nigel got a bit creepy again talking about the hole in Phillip’s pants but again, I won’t hold that against the dancers.

My bottom 3 guess? Karla & Jonathan and Asuka & Vitolio for sure. As for the last couple, I cannot decide between Kayla & Kupono and Jeanine & Phillip. And please don't ask me who I think is going home. Not a clue here. I still haven't seen the ONE. For an example of what I'm waiting for see the below video of Mark & Chelsie from last year:

On TV Tonight:

Other than the SYTYCD Results Show (which we are all waiting on pins and needles for), Fox has another great season 4 Bones repeat (Double Trouble in the Panhandle), where Booth and Bones go undercover as circus performers. Hilarious and a definite must watch! Also in the repeat box is Xander (Nicholas Brendon) making one of his 2 guest spots on Criminal Minds (CBS). Another show I don't usually watch but it is in the Tivo To Do list just so I can see what Mr. Harris has been up to. For the night owls like me, David Letterman has an especially sexy show tonight with guests Johnny Depp and Transformers' super babe, Megan Fox.

On TV This Morning:
Usually I am all about the NOW but the Angel repeats on TNT this morning inspired me. I really HATE Connor. He was super cute as a baby, but as a teenager, he not only sucks but is wicked obnoxious to look at. No way the spawn of Angel and Darla is that fugly. The reason I love these specific repeats? I love watching Angel kick Connor's ass. The only other person I'd rather watch kick it (other than Buffy, who obviously was not an option at the time) is Faith. Bad or not, she has always held a special place in my heart. Except for the whole murder thing, she makes brunettes with tattoos look very impressive.

Optimus Prime Time

Opening Day:
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opens today and I am wicked excited to see this movie. I doubt it will be winning any major awards but it looks to be pure summer blockbuster fun. And don't even get me started on the hotness that is Shia LaBeouf. The first one was a blast and I was on the edge of my seat through the entire thing. Now if only it would stop raining so I could get the full summer movie experience.

On TV Tonight:
The top 16 dancers perform on So You Think You Can Dance tonight. It has been fun so far but I still haven't seen that one dance that I rewind over and over again. Here's hoping it's tonight. And, don't miss Transformers cutie Shia LaBeouf tomorrow morning on Live with Regis & Kelly. I know I won't!

Another New Moon:
Whoever is in charge of these New Moon photos for the movie is doing a bang up job. This latest poster found over on TwilightGuide.com very accurately sums up how I felt while reading pages 73 through 451 of the book. Good job kids!

Hunger Games - The Movie:
Not a whole lot of updates on this exciting prospect except that it looks like the book's author, Suzanne Collins will be writing the screenplay which is good news to those of us fans who want a true adaptation. IMDB has the year of release posted as 2011. Thank god we don't have to wait that long for the next book. The sequel, Catching Fire will be out September 1st!

Any given Tuesday

TV Tonight:
TNT is repeating one of my very favorite Bones episodes tonight (The Critic in the Cabernet) and since they still have not set a release date for the season 4 DVDs I am excited to get to add it to the Tivo library.

Sweets: The point of the exercise is not to explain, but to respond. Okay? Children can do this.
Brennan: Because it's childish.
Sweets: Can we just try it, please?
Booth: Baby.
Brennan: Booth.
Booth: What, what do you think, I'm a baby?
Brennan: You're a father.
Booth: Oh. Mother.
Brennan: Birth.
Booth: Happy.
Brennan: Sperm.
Booth: Sperm? Isn't this getting a little weird.
Sweets: No, keep going.
Booth: Ok. Egg!
Brennan: I want a baby.
Booth: Whoa!
Brennan: Horse.

Also on tonight is one of my reality TV guilty pleasures, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. Tori Spelling and her family are just too cute for words and I absolutely love that she doesn't take herself too seriously. It's really a lot of fun.

Release of Note:
Out on DVD today is the Canadian vampire TV show Blood Ties. What I've read makes it sound a lot like Moonlight and I am excited to see how it stacks up against that and my beloved True Blood. I'll keep you posted!

New Moon Rising:
EW.com has an exclusive first look at the cover of the movie tie-in version of the New Moon book and holy moly is it HOT!! I may have to go ahead and get myself a 2nd copy. I think mine has a red wine stain anyways. WOW!

Happy Birthday Joss Whedon!
As the creator of some of the absolute best TV ever I thought I should include a little video clip of one of my favorite episodes as a bit of a tribute to the birthday boy.

Welcome Back Giles!!

Merlin (Sundays on NBC):
So I finally got a chance to sit down and watch the first episode of Merlin that I Tivo'd over the weekend. I have to say, I was pretty impressed. For starters it was great to see Anthony Head back in action as King Uther Pendragon. Another huge plus is the fact that Merlin (Colin Morgan) and Arthur (Bradley James II) are a couple of real cuties. So far it feels a bit like a the TV version of a marriage between Robin Hood and Harry Potter. I am very much looking forward to the rest of the 13 part series.
Buffy vs. Edward:
Thanks to Birdie for finding this little gem on http://twilightguide.com/tg/. It is one of the funniest videos I have ever seen and very well put together.
Alice in Wonderland:
EW.com has a little blurb about the new movie and the pictures look AMAZING!! I for one think this movie is going to be a lot of fun. I remember a live action version as a TV mini series from when I was a kid and it was great. Thanks to Tim Burton this should be even better.
